New Stuff
Hey there…sure hope you’re having a fabulous summer! Mine is going quite well, thank you!
I know I’ve shared before that I work out at a small, local gym 2x/week. I go to the bootcamp/ 9:30 am session and it’s pretty much all women my age, which is cool. But the best part is- it’s just 30 minutes.
And…I’m pretty sure I told you I bought my rebounder, so I make sure I get on that multiple times/week, too.
I don’t do anything fancy.
I just jump.
And, I know I told you I walk most days for 45 minutes to an hour.
My latest is a daily morning plank. In all my years I’ve never been much into planks. I won’t go in to all the benefits because you can look that info up if you're interested. But I have to say, I really like the plank! I do a low one- on my forearms- and hold for 90 seconds. This week I’m going to add in a nighttime one. You should do planks, too. It’s not time intensive and I feel like it’s such an accomplishment.
And it’s completely free!
I have a new sleep routine. I’ve started using a Podcast to help with my sleep. I was just having too many nights where I had trouble falling asleep or staying asleep. Does that happen to you? I don’t like to take anything for sleep, so it’s been a little frustrating. One of my sisters recommended the podcast, “Get Sleepy.” And while I liked it, some of the episodes seemed a little creepy and I didn’t want creepy stuff going into my brain unbeknownst to me.
So, I found another one. Get this name:
Boring Books for Bedtime.
This lady just reads boring books to you.
I think that’s hilarious.
But it works! And it’s free, too.
Apparently, I've listened to things like:
1912 Ford Motor Cars Model T Instruction Manual
The Principles of Chemistry
On Molecular and Microscopic Science
Etiquette, by Emily Post (which I would really like to listen to during the day some time).
Frye’s Practical Candy Maker, by GV Frye
I say “apparently” because I literally go right to sleep. Check it out!
My BIG new thing is a portable, personal infrared sauna. It’s hasn’t arrived yet, but I’m super excited! I bought it through Therasage. They sell “perfectly imperfect” ones for ½ price. I’m looking forward to the detoxification. Plus, I’m having some sciatic issues that I’m hoping it will help with, too. I’ll update you next month with how that’s going.
So, what’s new with you? Email me and let me know. I love learning about new ways to get/stay healthy!
Talk soon!
